Domain name

Interests and advantages of a domain name

An easier address to remember:
The shorter an address (url), the easier it is to remember. You will also be able to mix simple and effective words (fan-fortboyard.fr is much easier to remember than fandelemissionfortboyard.e-monsite.com) related to the content of your site.
If people remember your site’s address, then they may come back and this will certainly promote word-of-mouth.

It’s up to you to find a simple, effective and available domain name.

A more professional address:
The word professional may be badly chosen, maybe I should use credible.
Of course, there are many other factors that affect credibility: content, design, etc., the domain name is one of them too.
Known sites all have domain names. It has become a habit for Internet users to give more confidence to a site with a domain name than to another. They are not wrong, indeed especially for .Fr domain names, this means that the owner of the site is identified. In the event of a problem, the Internet user can then contact the webmaster (for example to make purchases on an e-commerce site).

Protect and strengthen its identity, its brand:
With domain names in .com, .org, .net first come first served.
Also, if a competitor or a smart guy reserves the name of your brand or product before you, then it will be difficult for you to recover it (mandatory legal procedure). By reserving your domain quickly, you protect yourself from its use by another.

If I manage a small car manufacturing company like Renault ;o), then it is important for me that my customers or future customers find me on the internet via my brand name like renault.fr for example. Thus, I strengthen the visibility of my brand and the confidence of my customers.

In addition, thanks to my domain name, I will be able to have an e-mail address in the name of my brand (jean.dupont@renault.fr), so when I send e-mails, I communicate about my brand and my website.
